School administration

The Victoria Japanese Heritage Language School is registered as a charity under the Societies Act of British Columbia. The school is administered and operated by the parents and caregivers of the students enrolled in the school. Society vote for a volunteer board of directors at an annual general meeting in September, and these directors meet regularly according to a set schedule. Funding for the school comes from society membership dues and tuition fees, as well as assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Charitable donations to the Victoria Heritage Japanese Language School are tax-exempt.
